Moving account profile fom Admin to User

Hi Guys,

I’m looking to improve security of my MacBook Pro.

I currently have one account which is admin. Aware this is not best

practice and would like to set-up a master Admin account and then use a second user account for everything.

Is there a way to do this that does not involve re-installing everything?

Ideally I could leave the same password for the Admin account, create a new user account with new password and that all the data can move to this account.

Would welcome any advice.

Thanks

It would be easier to create a new Admin account then change your original account to a Standard account. That way you don't have to move anything. FWIW, I've only had one Admin account on all my Macs for 30+ years without any problems.
