Apple Pencil (1st Generation): Remove cap from the top of Apple Pencil and insert it into iPad's Lightning Port.

Apple Pencil (2nd Generation): Magnetically attach Apple Pencil to the right side of iPad Pro (3rd Generation).

Apple Pencil one, charges by plugging into the Lightning plug in the iPad.

Apple Pencil 2, charges by placing on the magnetic charging plate on the side of the iPad Pro 11 or iPad Pro 12.9
