Beware - Email received that is possibly fraudulent

I recently received an email that looks like it is from Apple.  I think this email is possibly a fraudulent, phishing email.  It asked me to give my Apple log-in information.  I do not trust the link in the email, even though it looks like it is to the Apple site.  I did not log in using the link in the email.  Instead I went to the Apple site independent of that, and everything seemed fine with my Apple account. Could you please confirm that the email is fraudulent?  The following is a copy of the email address it came from and the subject. I tried to copy and paste more of the email, but it was not copying correctly.,

That email address isn't apple.com, it's a phishing email- you could forward it to Apple : reportphishing@apple.com , and then delete it.

Apple will always address you by your name or the name they have on file for you, not Dear Customer, Dear Client or by using your e-mail address.  The e-mail will be from @apple.com or @iTunes.com. E-mail addresses can be spoofed. You can go to Mail/View/Message/Show all Headers to see more. Apple e-mails will never contain an attachment. Apple will never request personal information by email such as Social Security numbers, your Mother’s maiden name or full credit card numbers .

The only exception to the above I have noticed is if you order something from the Apple Store (apple.com), your receipt will be addressed to Dear Apple Customer. That is a receipt for a purchase you initiated.
