I cannot find the way to accept cookies in safari settings. I'm running on version 12.1.2

Have you gone to Safari/Preferences/Privacy and made sure Block all cookies isn't checked? For some web sites, you also need to uncheck Prevent cross-site tracking to get all the cookies.

I had made sure Block all cookies wasn’t checked and it was still giving me issues but once I unchecked prevent cross-site tracking my problem was fixed thank you!
