Mac mini Display settings not saving.

Okay I see others have similar issues, however mine is a dedicated monitor, it never switches sources, but after a restart or shutdown the display is incorrectly rendered the overscan is out of position and the display settings have all changed. I was under the impression Mojave and Catalina are the top of the OS food chain, gosh even ubuntu lets you save your personalisation settings and holds them without the need for a 12 year computer science degree over and over again. Does anyone know the solution? The truth of the matter is we shouldn’t be worrying about any of this! All this time wasted researching someone else’s faulty property.

You failed to mention what year model Mac Mini, what monitor and how the monitor is connected to the Mac Mini.

First try resetting the Mac Mini's NVRAM, as per > Reset NVRAM or PRAM on your Mac - Apple Support

Then if that doesn't help, go to the monitors menu and try changing the monitor to a different Aspect Ratio.

FWIW typical monitor aspect ratios include 4:3, 16:9, and 21:9.
