voice control keeps shutting off on my mac

I have a macbook air early 2015 model.

I've recently upgraded to Catalina and discovered voice control. I want to use it, but after I enable it, after a few seconds, it shuts off.

Why is that? It's getting annoying.

Hi Moonchild98,

It sounds like you are having trouble with Voice Control, and I want to help.

Let's follow the steps here to enable Voice Control:

Use Voice Control on your Mac - Apple Support

If you're having trouble enabling it, lets see if you can enable this option while in safe mode:

Use safe mode to isolate issues with your Mac - Apple Support

Let me know if that helps.

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities.

Hi! Thank you for your reply!

I tried your first suggested option. But that is what I have been doing already. The thing is, after I close the system preferences window and reopen it again, the enable voice control is unchecked again. It goes like that, even after several tries.

For your other suggestion, I am iffy about trying the safe mode.

Do you have any other suggestions?

Thanks, again.
