I updated my OS to Catalina this weekend and find myself unable to use the Brother control center that I utilize for scanning/ emailing/ image capture. I have downloaded the latest Mac printer driver and scanner driver but am still unable to open Control Center. Brother site is awful. I need help.

Use the Brother iPrint&Scan as an alternative function.

Probably easier for me to say as I have never used or had a desire to use the Brother software on a Mac (although I have used it in Windows environment), but you may be happy using Image Capture after using it awhile and learning the differences.
Brother has available a master listing of what Brother devices are supported with Catalina.
Info on this printer/scanner is included, including support status (supported) and software download links.
If the software is not working, check the associated docs, and remove and reboot and re-install and test again, then check with the folks at Brother Support.
Image Capture definitely works and the scans are of very good quality. it's not as seamless as the Control Center was, bc I could scan directly into an email or into my Photos but it will work. Will not buy another Brother when this one dies.

You may have other reasons but if it is because of this issue, Brother seems to provide drivers for older printers than many of their competitors; with some of them you could be in the situation of the printer/scanner not working at all.
I downloaded the IPrint& scan and it says it doesn't support my machine (MFC-8810DW). Ugh.
