imovie menu's messed up

Mac Book Pro. OS10.15, iMovie 10.1.13. Restarted Macbook, Deleted iMovie and reinstalled, Restarted iMovie Re started iMovie holding down the command/option keys and deleted the preferences. Everything is fine till I go to the upper File, Edit menu's at the top Then My screen gets coloured bar going across the screen. I can't read any thing in the drop down menu's. Going back into finder I get the same thing happening till I quit iMovie. I also have big pink bars going across the screen but when I get a screen capture they show up as green bars. I don't even have to have any loaded into iMovie. I The only way to quit is to go command q or do a forced quit.
