How can I make a DVD from iMovie on an iMac with Catalina?
The procedure would be to share out your movie to your desktop and then drag or otherwise import it into a DVD authoring app in accordance with the app's instructions. iDVD no longer works with Catalina so you would need to download a different DVD authoring app. Check out this thread for some recommendations:

Additionally, you will need a DVD burner (see the above thread) and a good quality DVD disc, like Verbatim or Maxel. (sp?). After burning, you will have a DVD movie that will play both on your computer and with a DVD player.
If you just want a data DVD that will play the movie only on your computer, but not a DVD player, you can use the burn program on your Mac. See instructions in the Finder help menu. Type in "Burn DVD". However, this would just be a data disc for storage purposes. There would be file size limitations because data DVD's aren't compressed like DVD's burned with an authoring program. There wouldn't be any menus or themes either.

I should mention that you should make sure that any DVD authoring program that you get is 64Bit compatible, or it won't work with Catalina.

Your help was right on, Rich. I downloaded DVD Creator by Peng Guipping and made a respectable DVD from iMovie. Directions for use are a bit thin, but it worked well with Catalina. Thanks.
You are welcome. Have fun making DVDs. And thanks for posting back with your findings. 😊
