Thank you fyip, I updated the trade in MacBook Pro from Mojave to Catalina and it went well I must say.

So now I'll follow the Apple Support directions to transfer old to new.

I was concerned before with moving Mojave os files to Catalina os even though I have no 32 bit apps, all 64 bit.

It is so easy for example when purchasing a new iPhone to just use iCloud to move the latest backup over to the new phone.

Anyway, thank you for your speedy response.
