sending imessage to people with android devices

used to be able to send/receive imessages from people with android devices. can still do it from my iphone but not from my ipad. anyone have this problem and solved it?

Make sure that Text Message Forwarding is enabled in your Messages settings on your iPhone, and that both devices are logged in with the same Apple ID
