I got another MacBook Air which is ready to be used, should I erase data from the previous MacBook Air?

I recently got a new MacBook Air 2019 and transferred all datas to the new computer from the previous MacBook Air. I'm not using the oldest computer, would it be safe to delete all the contents and take it off the list of Apple ID? I already back up the newer computer.

Thanks,

Evy
