remove a message from messages ipad 13.2.2

Down at the bottom of the screen (after press and hold on message) with the 6 icons, you should see two additional items. Copy & More

Press the More selection then you will be sent to a screen that has a check mark on the selection, and at the bottom of screen should be Trash Can Press the trash can to delete

Press and hold the message and options should appear. Under the "more" will be a trash can.
