didnt back up phone

is there any way to retrieve all the contents of my phone if it was not backed up on icloud and my old phone has been restored to factory settings

You cannot restore if you do not have a backup.

Some of the stuff will automatic transfer if you have in Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Messages, Contacts, Calendars : ON

Assuming you use the same Apple ID & password.
