Is it an Apple or Apple Store gift card? If it is an Apple gift card then you can only use it for Apple's online services. If it is for an Apple Store then you can use it towards the price of an Apple Pencil.
Yes, it is apple store gift card which I got for black friday sale.
I already purchased apple pencil with the gift card and realized that I might be able to get student discount too, but forgot to ask for it when I purchase it yesterday.
Should I return the apple pencil and re-purchase it?
Thinking about it, Apple Pencil does not qualify for Apple's education discount. The iPad itself qualifies for the education discount but not the Apple Pencil or other iPad accessories.
