Older Model Mac Pro getting Final cut

Just to clarify. I have a mint Mac Pro (Early 2009). Upgraded as far as I can go to OS C El Capitan.

Only bought the machine for video editing. It is a paper weight without Final Cut Pro.

Can you confirm that if I buy Final Cut Pro under my ID on a newer model Mac...I can then log in on my older machine and download an older version of Final Cut Pro that will work on it?

Thank you!

I can confirm that it worked for me that way. I logged in to my account in the App Store on my older mac (2010 MBP running Yosemite at the time), tried to download FCP X and was offered to get version 10.2.3. For El Capitan I think you will get version 10.3.4.

I would not expect great performance from such an old mac, but it should work.
