I got an email from somewhere saying I was billed $83.80 and it will renew monthly but billed to my itunes account....I assume this was fake as no charges were made to my credit card, but how would i know if my itunes funds were taken?

You can check your iTunes credit balance by following the steps here: View your Apple ID balance - Apple Support

You can also verify no active subscription exists on your account for that billing by following the steps here: View, change, or cancel your subscriptions - Apple Support
