I wanted to download imovie, but apparently that isn't even compatible with even the previous mac update that i installed this year?
So, i go to upgrade to Catalina, but i've been using microsoft word 2011 and it says it will no longer work. So...what happens to all my word files when i upgrade? Can i not open them? Can i not edit them? Like how does that work?

The documents will remain as is unless a problem occurs; back them up first. Word 2011 won't open after upgrading; you'll need to use Office 2016 or newer, or a product such as TextEdit or LibreOffice, to open them.

They will open with your new version of Office.
they're all in drive, but what am i to do with them then? somehow convert them to new office docs? (which i don't even have)
