MacBook Pro 2014 - Sound Issues

Hello,

I got the MacBook Pro from Mid 2014 and it has been a loyal companion for five years. But today I opened it up and suddenly the left loud speakers have stopped working properly. There's still sound coming out of it but it's extremely brassy and painful to listen to. Last night everything was working fine.

Anyone got an idea what the trigger could have been and what my options are now?

Thank you guys in advance.

Try a PRAM reset (hold the PRAM reset for at least three chimes).

Try testing the audio while in Safe Mode.

If neither of these produce good audio, then one of the speakers may have failed and needs to be replaced.
