iPod won’t connect to itunes

I have an iPod nano (the last generation that they sold). I never used it until recently. When I connect the iPod to the USB port of my Windows 10 computer (updated), iTunes won’t show my iPod. iTunes updated to latest version, drivers up to date. I’ve tried everything. How can I get iTunes to see my iPod?

Windows, Windows 10

Hello,

Please refer to the following Apple Support document.

I did this. I read where people said download from Apple’s site, not the Microsoft Store. The only option I could find was the Microsoft Store. Did this and everything works fine.

btw - how and where do I name my iPod nano? When I connect to iTunes, it is identified by some jumbled up bunch of letters/numbers.

thanks
