Part deleting Time Capsule back up
I have a Mac Time Capsule which backs up 4 devices. I no longer use one device and want to free up the disc space. How can do this?
Mac mini, macOS 10.14

In Finder mount the TC disk and locate the sparsebundle for the computer that is no longer used.. and send to trash.. you should get a warning that no trash is available and it will be deleted immediately. Make double sure you are deleting the right one and proceed.

Tried this, did not get the message about not going to trash. However after some while I got the message:
The operation can't be completed because the item "bands" is in use.
I noticed that about half the file had gone so i repeated move to trash again and again. I got the same failure but the file size halved again and again. Eventually when the file was reduced to about 10GB, it deleted the file completely, leaving me over 700GB more space on the time capsule. All working well.
Many thanks, for confirming that you can simple delete the back up from finder. Thank you.
Bands in use .. makes no sense but I think it is one of the current list of problems if you use Mojave or later.
Anyway thanks for the solution you worked out.
