new watch won't pair

New Apple Watch 3 will not pair to IPhone 6 running IOS 12.4.4. Gives me an error that my phone is not running the latest software. But Phone is running the latest software. Rebooting done to both devices.

A new apple watch 3 or 5 will NOT pair with an iphone 6 or lower,apple watch 3 and 5 have software version watchos6 on them,this requires an iphone with ios13 or higher on them.Iphones with ios13 are an iphone 6s, or higher.Iphone 6 can only update to ios12 maximum.

Apple Watch Series 5 and Apple Watch Series 3 require an iPhone 6s or later with iOS 13 or later.

No If it's running iOS 6, it requires an iPhone 6s or newer running iOS 13.
