iphone is now asking for passcode, I never set one, how do I get back into my phone

I don't have a passcode on my iphone7, but it's now asking for one, and I'm locked out. I've tried several number combinations but all that does is get me locked out for longer times. Any ideas how to get back into my phone?

iPhone 7 Plus, iOS 13
