Photos crashes on MacBook Air/Catalina

Latest upgrade of photos and Catalina has crashed multiple time while scrolling thru 30K images in All Photos display. More recently it locked up (did not respond to mouse or keyboard) after exporting 4200 photos from a folder directly connected LaCie drive. The folder created using photo sweeper to mark duplicates. And yes, all software fully up to date and ample free space on all disks.

MacBook Air 13", macOS 10.15

All third party softwares / apps are to be uninstalled , see these articles https://support.apple.com/en-in/HT204968

https://support.apple.com/en-in/HT202235

https://support.apple.com/en-in/guide/mac-help/mh35835/mac

The photo application is damaged , you don't know what other system files are corrupted or the Mac itself os is corrupted , try creating a new test user account https://support.apple.com/en-in/HT204443

Other wise you have to erase the hard drive and reinstall Mac OS https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204904

Where is the library located? If it's on an external HD how is the drive formatted and connected to your Mac?

As a test launch Photos with the Option key held down and create a new, test library.  Import some photos and test to see if the same problem persists. Does it? (This tells us if the problem is limited to your current library or is more wide spread)

Next log into another user account and see if the problem persists there in Photos. (This tells us if the problem is limited to your user account or is system wide).

Photosweeper does not itself delete any files. It simply assigns them to an album. Furthermore, the initial scrolling errors occurred immediately after a new default library was built on a newly installed system, before anything other than Safari and a Catalina upgrade had run. I will try working from a new user account, though it is highly unlikely that anything user-specific could be in play given the context of the crashes. As I mentioned in another reply, it would really be nice if there were a way to get some Apple feedback from the crash logs so folks don't have to waste time with generic suggestions like those in the links.

thanks for your comments. I'll post updates at some point if I think they will help clarify what's going on.
