Internal Speaker Problem on IMAC computer

I have an Imac 27” and my ‘internal speakers” appear and disappear in the output section. How can I fix that problem?

Generally I would think that is a problem with the headphone jack being loose or such, but...

Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at startup), does the problem occur in Safe Mode?
