I am having an issue where I will receive a text message, and it will appear on the lock screen/notification drop down but it doesn’t show the red banner alert on the actual message icon, even though I haven’t opened the message yet. When I open the messenger app, it’ll show that I have missed messages, but I can’t see the number of them. I’ve tried restarting my phone but still haven’t had success.
iPhone 7 Plus, iOS 13
Go to Settings-->>Notifications-->>Messages
Make sure that Badges is switched ON.
