Split screen

After an apparent update when I open the email app I now get a split screen. I prefer to see all emails in a full screen and select which to view. How do I change this back on my IPad?

Go into the settings and turn off multitasking

This happened to me this morning as well. Nothing I did fixed it and I couldn’t find the handles, so I finally resorted to the tried and trued reset. Five minutes later everything was back to normal, all I had to fix was my location settings and I made sure to turn off split screen!

Thanks Karen for replying. Unfortunate I am not completely savvy with all this and possibly didn’t do exactly as you, but, so far it didn’t work. When you say reset, do you mean actually click on the reset or just turn off for five minutes? If I click on reset, will I lose anything more than location? I am a little timid to click on things I don’t quite know what will happen.

Oh that. Sorry, that’s how the mail app is. the list of mails on the left, the body of the mail you are viewing on the right.


I thought you were talking about only seeing the mail on half the screen and another app on the other side.


The only way to get away from the mail being like that is to use another mail app.

Ok, thanks Skydiver. Spent enough time on this so guess I will learn to live with it, and now ‘fix’ the things that the reset changed. Seems every time there is an update, some things get changed or moved around and it takes me time to find or fix. Maybe I should stop allowing updates. Thanks for your time.
