It shows that I have an update and when I go to do the update it won't install

Is your mac already running a version of Catalina, you do realise you are posting on the High Sierra community.
If you are already on Catalina and want to update to 10.15.2 then try the standalone download from here,

If you are actually running macOS High Sierra and want to Upgrade to Catalina read this,
