should i let my mac sleep all the time or shut it down.

which is better for battery and hardware

i don't care about the time i wait but i feel like shutting it down everyday is more harmful than sleeping

I've used MacBooks for over 7 years and rarely shut them down. I have Apple menu > System Preferences > Energy Saver > Battery (at top of Preferences window) > Enable Power Nap turned off. The battery level is at the same percentage in the morning as it was the night before.

There is no issue closing the lid and letting it sleep.
