Why is there a flashlight icon on iPhone lock screen in the lower left? It does absolutely nothing when I press it and I cannot drag it anywhere.

What's going on?

I am wondering how to remove that icon as I accidentally turn it on too often. Any ideas of how to remove it???

You press it to turn on the light.
It's on the lock screen for convenience to use your phone as a flashlight.
If it's not working, your phone is having issues.

You press and hold until you feel the haptic feedback.

You can also turn on the flashlight from the Lock screen: Firmly press the Flashlight button 
, in the bottom-left corner.
You can’t remove it or the camera button from the lock screen. But that’s why touching it is not sufficient to trigger either button; you need to them for 2 seconds.
