Just checking answer in Pages 8.2 is still the same as for 7.1 re: templates and rulers

I am trying to create a template in pages with the rulers in the always-on state. I saw a previous post that said in Pages 7.1 it can't be done https://discussions.apple.com/thread/8464713. Is this still true? Any other way to have the rulers always on as opposed to clicking show rulers for each new document?

Thanks

No Change in Pages v8.2.1. Rulers do not remain set when saved in a template with Pages v8.2.1. There is no Pages preference to permanently enable rulers, and it remains additional, deliberate user action.
