Watching Apple TV

After I bought my iPhone 11, I got one year subscription to Apple TV for free. Why I am not able to watch Apple TV in India?

Apple TV App is available. No error messages. I am asked to subscribe for Apple TV for a monthly fee. It does not recognize my one year free membership, even though I have signed in with my apple id.

Could it have anything to do with the new iphone 11 that I purchased in the US that is being used with my Indian sim number?
