Are @me.com Email Aliases still available (as at Jan 2020)

I have seen instructions to create an @me.com alias, however when I go to create the alias, only an @iCloud.com alias is offered. How can I get an @me.com alias? (as at January 2020).

Sorry, the @me.com are now longer available for new addresses. As you have seen, on @icloud.com.
