Syncing Photos after Catalina

I asked this question before, but it warrants another thread since there doesn't seem to be an answer.

Ever since the syncing goes from iTune to Finder, I can't seem to sync photos from my library to my devices (iPhone and iPad). I clicked on "Sync photos to your device from" and "Photos", and clicked on "Selected Albums", but after each sync all photos from my devices would be removed, while gaining none from my computer.

However, my music and books don't seem to suffer the same issue. Does anyone else have the same issue?

iPhone 8 Plus, iOS 13

Sorry, accidentally clicked on "solved" when it's not.

Yes, almost all of the albums I want to sync into my phone are within a folder, categorized. So how come Apple push for this sync method when there's flaw?

The best supported way to sync your albums to the iPhone or iPad is iCloud Photos. You can sync the folders as well as the albums, and you will be able to adjust the photos on the iPhone and sync them back to the Mac.

The Finder syncing is very limited.

I have the same problem, it's been an issue for months and Apple are not doing anything about it.

I buy Apple devices because they talk to each other but it appears this is no longer happening and there's no longer any benefits for me to buy into the Apple brand.

Indeed, very frustrating. I have exactly the same problem and also noticed that even Many Photos contained inside "Top Level Albums" (Not inside Folders) are Not Synced and do not appear on my iPhone!

Are the albums you are selecting for syncing nested inside folders? Currently we only seem to be able to sync top level albums to the iPhone this way, not the albums enclosed in folders.

I didn't think we're required to use iCloud for something a computer should be able to handle on its own.
