iMovie for Catalina

The maps fearture is not available in all languages and regions. Try going to System Preferences/Language & Region and change the language to English. That should display the maps feature. (There may be other languages that will work.) If the language change doesn't solve it try changing the region to UK. You can always change these settings back. Changing the region might make it more difficult to purchase things on the online app store, but as I said you can always change the region back.

There is no path to upgrade iMovie 8. Instead, download current iMovie 10.

While I have the same question, am currently using 10.1.14 which is not showing maps in the app. How to resolve this?
