Not receiving text message notifications

I haven’t been receiving text message notifications for some time - likely since the last iOS update. I have checked all my settings - banners, lock screen, sounds, etc. etc. - they are in order. I’ve turned Bluetooth off and back on and I just did a reset of all settings. But no notifications! They don’t even show up in Notification Center. The only way I know I have Messages is by the app Badge.

BTW, I checked to ensure Hide Alerts is off.

From the discussion threads, this is a known problem with iPhone 7 as long as it’s been around. I haven’t encountered it before just recently. I’m at my wits end!
