Can my downloaded music be stored other than iTunes
can I store all downloaded music from iTunes in the cloud, or anywhere else?

Music purchased from iTunes can remain in "the cloud" if its not downloaded, and can be streamed from there too.
It can also me moved to an external drive or another cloud service. The iTunes App can continue to access to from an external drive, but won't be able to access it from another cloud service.
Music downloaded from the Apple music subscription service can also remain undownloaded, but cannot be played outside of iTunes. If the iTunes library is moved to an external drive, any downloads from the subscription service will be placed there too.
