iPad not getting text messages

Since you say you are "no longer getting text msgs" on your iPad, I presume you have been using your iPhone to forward text messages but lost the ability somehow.

On your iPhone, go to Settings > Messages > Text Message Forwarding and make sure the entry for your iPad is still enabled (green).

An iPad is not a cellular telephone. It has no capability to send or receive SMS text messages, whether it has cellular capability or not.

There are two different types of messages:

• iMessages, sent to/from other Apple devices. Your iPad should be able to do these.
• SMS or MMS messages m to/from cellular telephones. Your iPad cannot do these.

If you happen to own an iPhone, your iPhone can hand off SMS/MMS messages to/from the iPad.
