deleting an app?
i have done the usual hold the app until it jiggles but the delete x doesn't appear? what am i doing wrong?

This was the problem. In Settings, screen time, my settings had gotten adjusted to not allow content changes. Turned that switch off and the jiggly x came back.
app deleted, reinstalled, and operational.
