Mac Problems

Hi

This will probably be like the biggest hardest thing to talk about but my Mac is literally broken. Here is what I have tried:

  • tried Disk Utility:
  • disk first aid, format, or creating a disc drive creates an error
  • I have tried many things from online like a PRAM reset and SMC reset, nothing changed

The problem:

  • booting it normally and just turning it on doesn't work:
  • stays on loading screen, gets to end, nothing happens, gets to middle nothing happens
  • safe mode or internet boot just makes it turn off after the loading screen reaches end

At the moment I am leaving it overnight using the Reinstall MacOS option as I have no further options!

A friend gave me their laptop, so I don't know much. All I know it is a Macbook Pro (not the newest one), and has MacOS Mojave.

Anyone got any suggestions?

Make an appointment at the Apple Genius Bar for service. If you need to find an Apple Store - Find a Store - Apple. Also, see How to find your nearest Apple Authorized Service Provider (AASP) or Distributor (AAD).

The lack of relevant information makes it impossible to suggest what to do. Either do the above or:

If your problems cease, then consider switching to the new account and transferring your files to it - Transferring files from one User Account to another.
  10. Reinstall OS X by booting from the Recovery HD using the Command and R keys. When the Utility Menu appears select Install OS X then click on the Continue button.
