Message re another device trying to sign into my account

I keep getting a pop-up saying another device is asking for me to allow them to sign in from a different location in another city. Always the same place, however. Is this normal, or what should I do?

I think an attempted scam may be process. You don't really need to do anything except not respond in any way.

Here is some information on how to "Avoid phishing emails, fake 'virus' alerts, phony support calls, and other scams:" https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204759 This read also provides information on how to "report phishing attempts and other suspicious messages to Apple."

And, if you are worried that you Apple ID has been compromised, see: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204145 If

your iCloud account has been compromised, then so has your Apple ID.

If this is an e-mail you received, or a popup on the screen, about the time you were actually logging in, there is probably nothing to worry about. The location in the e-mail is where your ISP reported it. If their servers are in a location distant from you, there will be a large error. Based on other posts I have read, the distant error can be very large.

If that isn't the case, the e-mail may be a scam, especially if there is a link for you to click.
