Headphones won’t work through iPad Pro 11 inch USB C adapter

I have a USB C headphone adapter so I can used wired headphones with my iPad Pro. When I plug in, I get good sound for about 30 seconds and then it turns off and cycles off for about 3 seconds and then on for about 1 second. I’ve tried connecting and reconnecting and manipulating the connections already. Any suggestions?

I’m not sure. I bought the adapter through Amazon. I went back to check and the one I bought doesn’t show up anymore. I did some testing and found that the adapter works with my Bose headphones but not with my Apple headphones.
