Exercise ring not matching with activity

I just recorded a 35 minute outdoor walk using my Apple Watch. It’s only showing 11 minutes completed on my exercise ring. How do I fix this issue?

Short version: walk faster.

You need to reach 75 - 80% of your maximum heart rate in order for the exercise ring to count it. On you next walk periodically check your heart rate.
