HBO

I understand that the HBO product/subscription in the Apple TV app is different than HBO NOW and HBO GO but how can that be? Generally, if you any form of an HBO subscription then you’re able to use that login and password to watch HBO on any device. Why is this any different? My apps are connected and I’m still unable to enjoy my HBO subscription with my new Apple TV that I’m so excited about.

Apple’s Apple TV app HBO Channel offering has a few features that set it apart compared to similar offerings from others.

  • allowing downloads for offline use or international travel
  • allowing family sharing
  • a simplicity of having it integrated inside the Apple TV app without other app dependencies.
  • a simplicity of having billing through iTunes (same as for in-app purchases).
  • a simplicity of single tier pricing.

If you have HBO Now or HBO Go and if you don’t want to switch, then you can probably download the corresponding HBO app to your streaming device, and enjoy their service outside the Apple TV app.
