iMovie Voiceover Doesn't Record

I was opening up the iMove voiceover interface as usual, but when I spoke into the microphone, it wasn't recording anything. I checked my input to find that it was to the internal microphone as usual. I checked the input volume and it reads 100%. After that, I checked if iMovie needed updating. It was up-to-date. Then I checked the microphone with QuickTime player. It worked. Is there another troubleshooting tactic I haven't tried for MacOS Catalina 10.15?
