apple tv connecting to homepod

i bought the HomePod about a month ago to use partly with the AppleTV (4K). The AppleTV is connected to Ethernet and was connecting successfully with the HomePod even though it is on wifi for weeks, however recently they refuse to connect to each other. Is there a way for both the tv and the HomePod to connect even though one is wifi and one is connected to Ethernet or was it just a fluke that they connected before?

HomePod, 13

You should be able to link the two devices together as long as your wireless router (or the channel you're connecting to) isn't configured for client isolation. Try power cycling the HomePod as first line of attack. If that hasn't helped consider Resetting your HomePod - Apple Support.
