Apple Pencil disconnecting from bluetooth after a few seconds

I got a new iPad pro and Apple pencil a few weeks ago. The pencil was working fine until yesterday evening, when it suddenly disconnected from my iPad. I tried to reconnect it to the iPad again by going to the bluetooth settings, forgetting the device and pairing it again, restarting the iPad, and nothing works. I get the same problem every time I try. My pencil is fully charged and the tip is properly fixed. I need to give a presentation tomorrow and I am in a hurry to solve this problem, if possible.
