iPad password is not working

I haven’t used my iPad in about a month and now it’s saying “Touch ID requires your passcode when iPad restarts” why is this the password I made for this device is not working

Hello,


iPad requires your passcode any time that it is restarted. If you have forgotten your iPad’s passcode then you will need to restore it to factory settings.


Please refer to the following Apple Support documents.


If you forgot the passcode for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, or your device is disabled - Apple Support

If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
