SMS text not working on OS Catalina

I used Migration Assistant to move from OS High Sierra to my new MBA2020 Catalina and lost the ability to communicate with SMS contacts in Messages. I am still able to use my iOS devices, as well as the old MBP (2011), however, SMS contacts (green balloon) get a red exclamation error when attempting to send, and are also unable to receive SMS texts, although the iOS devices can.

If you can’t get SMS (iMessage) on OS Catalina then try putting your computer into recovery mode, to do that, restart your Mac then immediately hold the command and R keys until you see a familiar screen to this after click Reinstall Mac OS, and it will try to reinstall Mac OS without losing your files, if it doesn’t work, there should be internet recovery mode, make sure your connected to the internet for this, and my Mac has a deferent version in the photo so I won’t get it, if you don’t want to be in recovery mode, hold down the power button until you see a black screen or click the red dot at the top.
