cannot send mail on ipad

Cannot send mail on iPad. Message says “user name or password for “STMP:xxxxxx@stmp.verizon.net” is incorrect. (I put x’s for my email address). Even though I never changed password or user name! I can send going via aol webmail, but I prefer using mail on iPad. Anyone else experiencing this?

No. By design, for account security, the all passwords within your Mail settings are always obscured from view. You can however, from presence of the dots, confirm that “a password” has been set for the specific attribute.

Thanks, but coincidentally as soon as I posted this question, my test emails came thru. As I said I never changed password so didn’t understand why it wouldn’t go. But is there a way to see the password in settings on ipad to verify? All I see is dots, and I was going blind trying to count them to make sure it matched what I had for password? Thanks.
